Terms

Last updated: July 11, 2026

Nonlinear. is beta document-analysis software. These terms describe the current private-beta service.

Software and access

Nonlinear. may provide downloadable desktop software, account access, updates, outside AI processing, and support. Beta functionality, supported platforms, availability, and pricing may change as the product is tested.

No legal advice

Nonlinear. analyzes documents. It does not provide legal advice, create an attorney-client relationship, replace independent legal research, or substitute for professional judgment.

AI output and citations

AI systems can make mistakes, omit material, misread documents, and attach a citation to an unsupported statement. Users must inspect the underlying record before relying on an output in a filing, communication, negotiation, deadline, or legal decision.

Client material

Users must have authority to process every document they add. Users are responsible for confidentiality, privilege, protective orders, retention requirements, court rules, professional-conduct obligations, and firm policies. The privacy page explains what stays local and what is transmitted for processing.

Accounts, licenses, and billing

When account licensing or paid access is offered, credentials and license keys may not be shared outside the permitted user or organization. Subscription terms, included credits, renewal, and cancellation conditions will be presented at purchase. We may suspend access for nonpayment, abuse, security risk, or violation of these terms.

Acceptable use

Users may not use nonlinear. to violate law, infringe rights, access material without authorization, evade safeguards, attack the service, or distribute malicious content.

Beta availability

The beta is provided on an as-available basis. Features may fail, change, or be withdrawn. Users must maintain independent copies of documents and should not treat nonlinear. as the sole repository for any matter.
